Crowdtap sampling opportunity: LUNCHABLES JR. Play-Date

We got through Crowdtap two new snacks that are available at Walmart and cost less than $2. They are called Lunchables Jr and come in four flavors. I got to sample the Oscar Mayer Lunchables Very Beary Crunch Lunchables Jr. and the Oscar Mayer Lunchables Ants on a Log Lunchables Jr. The Very Beary Crunch Lunchables Jr. was definitely a bigger hit than the Ants on a Log version because the latter one included raisins, which I am not particularly fond and so no surprise that kids do not like them either. I even had a hard time, until I tried out a new recipe, to eat Oatmeal Raisin cookies and so that says something about my distaste for raisins.

The sampling kit included the two flavors and some recommended activities. This one was strange for me because I do not approve of kids playing with their food. The attached brochure suggested playing tic-tac-toe or similar things and I am somewhat puzzled by that recommendation. But anyway, the samples were split, so that equal and fair sharing was in place.

Oscar Mayer Lunchables Ants on a Log Lunchables Jr. Lunch Combination contain

  • Peanut butter
  • Sun-Maid Raisins
  • Honey graham sticks
copyright Durhamonthecheap - they do provide a nice variety of items in the package, but also raisins!

Oscar Mayer Lunchables Very Beary Crunch Lunchables Jr. Lunch Combination contain:
  • Mini Ritz Bits Cheese Cracker Sandwiches
  • Strawberry-flavored dried apple pieces
  • Teddy Grahams Honey Graham Snacks
My opinion. It is a cute idea for kids, but quite frankly I would prefer to assemble my own trail mix items for kids. That way I can determine what is included, ensure variety and make sure that we only include items that I know they like. It is certainly convenient to purchase the Lunchables Jr combos for moms that are in hurry and just as a treat for the kids. But I would probably not purchase them on a regular basis.
