I was fortunate that bzzagent also included a coupon for a sample of the Private Selection cheese - so today I sampled the Blue Marbled Pepper Jack cheese, which I expected to be spicy and having a Roquefort-type flavor as well. I paired it with a simple biscuit, left over from Thanksgiving, as well as some fruit and from Private Selection the Greek Olive mixture. I could not decide on a specific type of olive that I wanted to sample because Private Selection includes a variety of stuffed olives, including one kind with citrus stuffed that sounded tasty.

Overall, no product from the Kroger line of Private Selection foods has ever disappointed and the two products pictured above are no exception. The only drawback is that both Kroger stores I went to in southern Durham had only one kind of cheese to choose from. I would have loved to sample another cheese as well, especially since I opted to buy two kinds of olives (I could not resist the citrus stuffed variety after all) and so having two cheeses would have been nice. I hope that the local Kroger stores expand on their selection and provide us with more variety.
